THE AMAZONIAN SOCIAL
RELATION TO NATURE

An Open Access Environmental

Humanities Digital  Project

DSC07020-2_edited.jpg

This project explores how indigenous inhabitants of the western Amazon engage other species socially, as though they were human.   To do so it links testimonies, stories, and songs to the plants and animals that are the subjects of the narratives... It also links species to the stages of the human life cycle through which they are experienced socially.
