Collybia aurea is an edible mushroom traditionally harvested by Amazonian Quichua and Achuar. The preferred way of preparing them is to steam them with fish in a leaf packet (maytu). In Quichua the mushroom is call "toucan heart mushroom" because of its resemblance to the heart of a toucan.
